Peacock Inspired!

Hello ladies, (and gentlemen haha)

Last month I created this look upon request for a friend and gave her a detailed explanation on how I did the eyes. I normally don't do this in my blog because I'm not a very good teacher, but I tried to break it down as best as I could for those who are just starting in makeup and need a little help.

First, I used Scotch tape. This makes the ends more clean, defined, angled, and dramatic. You just align it with the outer corner of your eye and up to the end of your eyebrow. Stick it, and then apply your eye shadow. Then, take it off before you start on your lower lash line.

Each of these colors are "feathered" into one another for this look. Meaning they are not blended or faded out, but more like stretched into one another. In this case, the different colors are mostly horizontally stretched. It's all a matter of packing or tapping the eyeshadow on with a short flat shader brush, then doing short, light, sideways strokes into the next color. After all of the "feathering", I took a blending brush (which is tapered with a fluffy dome shape) with a matte white eyeshadow to soften the edge of the crease by doing a sideways back and forth motion, and slowly blending some of the color from the crease up. Lastly, I packed on some more white eyeshadow just to intensify the brow bone highlight.

For the eyeliners, I used a black liquid liner on the top lid, and a black pencil liner on the water line. For the outer portion of my lower lashline I used Peacock by Makeupgeek and #439 by Inglot for just a tiny pop of purple (it looks blue in photographs but it isn't in real life). I guess with the eyeliner I was kind of going for an Arabic style, where it's really very black, dramatic, intense, and pointed on the inner corner and winged on the outer corner, I think it works well with peacocky looks lol. False lashes would look AMAZING with this, but I can't wear them because my lashes are too curly and crazy. Lastly, for my cheeks I used a light purple eyeshadow mixed with a light pink blush, and for lips I used a hot pink (or fuscia. it looks different in the pictures) lip liner. :D

 CC is always appreciated!

Your not a good teacher? You could have fooled me! XD I love how you succeeded in describing how to feather the colors together, its something I've tried to get others to understand but ultimately lack the vocabulary to do. (Sometimes)

Anywho, amazing look, as per usual. I love the pop of purple on the lower lashline. The combination definitely makes your beautiful eyes pop that much more. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks I really appreciate that:) I may have succeeded but it was extremely difficult to explain. Even after I typed her an essay on feathering, she was still like wtfff? I had to direct her to Makegeek, lol
